The Story behind the photo

Photographed in the early hours at Ashridge Estate, Hertfordshire, this image captures a fleeting moment of spring magic in the heart of the English countryside.

The mist drifting through the trees, and the woods were so still I could hear nothing but birdsong. The bluebells were at their peak, blanketing the forest floor in every direction.

What I love about this scene is the calm - that gentle hush you only get when you're out before most people have even had their first coffee. The soft light, the delicate colour of the flowers, and the sense of peaceful solitude made it a moment I won’t forget.

Here’s what makes each print special:

  • Ink: Canon Lucia Pro Pigment Inks

  • Printer: Canon imagePROGRAF PRO Series

  • Paper: Fotospeed NST Bright White 315 Signature Paper – a gorgeous 315gsm matte paper made from 100% cotton rag, with a soft, natural texture. It’s Fine Art Trade Guild–approved and, with these inks, is designed to last over 85 years.

The listed size is the paper size. Each print has a thin white border on the top, left and right, with a deeper white border on the bottom for signing and numbering. This means it’s easy to trim for US-standard frames. Prints are unframed and unmounted – this way, you can choose a frame that suits your home or workspace perfectly.

The Print

This photograph is part of a limited edition of just 35 prints, split between:

  • A3 – 20 prints

  • A2 – 15 prints

Each one is a hand-signed archival giclée print that I create myself in my home studio. I only sign and number a print once I’m completely happy with the quality, and every order comes with a certificate of authenticity – my personal seal of approval.

Delivery

Your print will be made to order, carefully signed, and packed by me. Because of this, please allow up to 10 working days for delivery. If you’re ordering internationally, please note that any import duties are the buyer’s responsibility – it’s worth checking what these may be in your country before purchasing.

This image will never be released as an open edition, but I may use it in curated projects like calendars, exhibitions, or box sets.
